TOKYO DESIGN STUDIO New Balance × Snow Peak @DOVER STREET MARKET GINZA

日本発のアウトドアブランド「Snow Peak」とNEW BALANCEが展開するブランド「TOKYO DESIGN STUDIO New Balance」のコラボレーションによるカプセルコレクションのためのディスプレイデザイン。 アウトドアでの行為の一つである、ロープワークをデザインに落とし込むことを考えた。テンション（張力）によりピンと張られたロープが、角度を変えながら反復することで、曲面のような幾何が表れる。 そして、上側の面はロープの交わりがハンガーの支点となり、一方で下側の面はトレッキングの様な起伏がシューズのディスプレイとなる。 また、建築設備用の穴あきアングルや梱包作業用のロープといった、日常にありふれていながらも表立って使われていないものを材として用いることで、ロープワークの機能性そのものを顕在化させることを意図した。 この考えは、TOKYO DESIGN STUDIO New Balanceが掲げるコンセプト「REVEAL（明らかにする）」にも通じている。 The Japanese outdoor brand “Snow Peak” and the brand “TOKYO DESIGN STUDIO New Balance” by NEW BALANCE have collaborated for the capsule collection.This is the display designed for it. I tried to put the outdoor rope work into the design for this project. The rope tightended up by tension, and it repeats wheeling. This motion makes the geometry looks like a curved surface. On the upper surface, the intersection of the rope becomes the fulcrum of the hanger, on the other hand, while on the lower surface, the trekking-like undulation becomes the display of the shoes. I used everyday items for this project : the perforated angle and the ropes for packing.They are not usually used for finishing, but I attempted to their function to be revealed.
