Ji·Yun Yao Resort offers a spiritual sanctuary where nature and humanity merge in perfect harmony. Inspired by the concept of "Return to the Countryside, Embrace Life in the Wild," its design aims to curate a series of immersive spaces where guests can connect with the raw beauty of the wild mountains and experience the tranquility and poetry of nature. The site is located in a 400-year-old Hakka village in Conghua, nestled at the foot of the wild Mountain Yao and surrounded by lush forests, misty clouds, fruit orchards, and tranquil valley—offering an unparalleled natural setting. Fully respecting the local village fabric, the village-like resort complex harmoniously blends with the surrounding fields, seeming to organically grow from the land. The resort offers a retreat from the chaos of the city, accommodating the timeless yearning for a simple, secluded life in nature. In the spatial design, each functional area is uniquely characterized while maintaining a harmonious dialogue with the others. Ascending the mountain steps, a quaint, natural vibe fosters relaxation, where the reception bar welcomes each guest with an open embrace. Soft light and shadows play with greenery and subtle candle fragrance, creating a serene, bright atmosphere that soothes both the body and mind, immersing guests in the fresh mountain air. The walls, with rustic colors and textures, become a blank canvas, where branches, leaves, and delicate artifacts brush against it like strokes, evoking a living painting of serenity. The warm candlelight and the glowing fireplace, together with an expansive window offering cinematic views of the outdoors, unfold a slow-paced lifestyle secluded in nature. The restaurant prioritizes the interaction between guests and nature, offering the nourishment of nature's seasonal bounty with refined culinary techniques. Breeze sweeps across the fields, bringing a fresh air. Light streams through the curved roof, walls, windows, and doors, turning the natural wood textures into a scroll painting, infusing the space with a breathing ambience. While enjoying the delicacies, guests fully immerse themselves in nature's embrace and savor the joy of being nourished. The guestrooms' design embodies nature, tranquility, and simplicity, creating an immersive retreat to reconnect with inner peace. The naming of each guestroom echoes the resort's philosophy of returning to simplicity and authenticity, with simple designs that break way from excessive decorations. The interior's color palette is selected from natural, understated tones, such as earth hues, which harmonizes with the natural environment and creates a calm, peaceful atmosphere. Natural light and shadow are subtly brought into the space, gently playing over various objects like a delicate brushstroke, bringing a quiet sense of time while contributing to the aesthetic ambience in the interior. The use of natural timber materials enhances the peaceful atmosphere, enveloping the space in purity. The elegantly subdued rooms encourage relaxation, inviting guests to roam freely within. In this serene, elegant setting, guests feel nourished—awakened by the soft morning light and lulled into restful sleep by the quiet of night. This environment nurtures self-renewal, fostering a deeper connection with nature and encouraging guests to explore the gifts of the heaven and earth. Each window becomes a picture frame, connecting the indoors with the outside world, offering guests an ever-changing view of the mountain and forest landscapes—allowing them to savor the poetry of nature and the seasons while enjoying a peaceful and cozy retreat.
