中国深セン市の大型複合施設Upperhills内の一角に位置する、200人から300人規模の収容人数を見込む小劇場（イベントホール）である。主にシアター、舞台、ファッションショー、講演会等の為に使用され、クライアントからは多目的な用途に対応できるフレキシブルさと、時代に左右されないタイムレスなデザインを求められた。そこで我々は単純な箱状の空間に対して、音と光の要素に絞って機能だけを追い求めた空間の在り方を模索した。音の反射を極限までなくし、よりクリアで繊細なサウンドを実現させるための無響室をモデルとし、壁は凹凸を施した多孔質コンクリートとバーナーで焼いた鉄板スクリーンの二重構造とした。スクリーンにはパンチング加工を施し、音の反射率を軽減させる効果を狙っており、また同時にこれらの音に対する機能をもった壁や天井が、光の演出効果を高める機能も担っている。壁にランダムに埋め込んだキャストガラスの光と壁天井の間接照明を組み合わせることで、各イベントの用途に合わせた約10通りの光のシーンを可能にした。 This is a small theater (event hall) with a capacity of 200 to 300 people, located in a corner of Upperhills, a large complex in Shenzhen, China. It is mainly used for theater, stage performances, fashion shows, lectures, etc. The client requested a flexible and timeless design that can be used for a variety of purposes. To realize the best acoustic with a super clear sound, the resonance of the sound will be absorbed to its maximum effect with a double layer structure. Soffit is made of porous cement and urethane foam which is cladded with perforated steel plate screen with a texture made with a burner. Monotone acoustic panels are laid out in grids on the ceiling to emphasize the colors of the performers. Cast glass light randomly recessed in the wall along with the indirect light offers 10 different lighting schemes to further enhance the stage.
