大阪芸術大学デザイン学科卒。東京都内の設計施工会社、デザイン事務所にて商業空間の内装設計業務に約10年間従事後、単身デンマーク王国へ渡欧。現地首都コペンハーゲンの設計事務所にてブティック、カフェ、ホテル等、様々なプロジェクトを5年間にわたり受け持つ。中でも北欧におけるマリオット系ホテルの内装を数多く担当する。 2020年、活動の拠点をジョージア国 (旧グルジア) の首都ティビリシへ移し、Design Studio NAO. LLCを現地にて設立。様々なプロジェクトを各地で手掛けてきた経験を活かし国際的な賞を複数受賞、日本と欧州で精力的に活動する新進気鋭デザイナーである。2024年９月よりジョージア大学建築学科にて講師就任予定。 Nao Tokuda is the founder of Design Studio NAO, an award winning interior/architecture design firm based in Tbilisi, Georgia. He was born in Japan, where he began his career as an interior designer. Tokuda has dealt with a variety of retail, hospitality and residential projects worldwide — having worked in various bases from Asia to Scandinavia and the Caucasus. His experience, industry knowledge based on both Asian and Western backgrounds gives him a unique insight into design solutions for diverse projects. Scheduled to start a lecture in the faculty of architecture, University of Georgia from September 2024.
